The side mirror assembly provides the driver with a view of the areas behind and to the sides of the vehicle, minimizing blind spots. The assembly consists of the mounting bracket, the aerodynamic housing, the mirror glass, and often an internal electric motor for adjustment. Modern assemblies are complex, often containing integrated turn signals, heating elements to clear frost, and sensors for Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) systems. If the housing is cracked or the glass is shattered, the entire assembly typically needs replacement to restore full safety functionality and aerodynamics.
