Copper grease is not a lubricant for moving parts; it is an anti-seize paste containing high concentrations of copper particles. It is applied to static parts that are bolted together but subjected to extreme heat (like spark plug threads and exhaust bolts). It prevents these parts from welding together (cold welding) or rusting solid, ensuring they can be easily disassembled years later. It withstands temperatures up to 1100°C (2000°F).
