Dashboard switches are the individual toggle, rocker, or push-buttons located on the center console or dash panel. They control distinct functions like hazard warning lights, rear window defoggers, fog lights, or traction control. These switches are often backlit for night visibility. A faulty switch may feel “mushy” when pressed, fail to stay in the “on” position, or the internal light may burn out. While touchscreens are common now, physical switches remain preferred for critical safety functions.
